Abstract Background: Impulsivity – one of the core feature of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) – is associated with a multitude of negative outcomes and poor prognosis. The impulsiveness in ADHD is characterized by inhibitory control deficits. Inhibitory control is commonly assessed using questionnaires or computerized tasks done in laboratory settings. Those tests are limited in their ecological validity by neglecting intraindividual variability – due to situational factors. Ecological momentary assessment (EMA) as well as actigraphy allow assessment in real time and in naturalistic environment. Thus, EMA could be useful to know better about impulsivity’s variability, triggers, or consequences during the day. Objective: This systematic review focus on previous studies using EMA and actigraphy for the assessment of impulsivity of children and adolescents with ADHD. Method: This systematic review of literature follows the PRISMA guidelines. Inclusion criteria are: (a) children and adolescents (6-18 years old) with a diagnosis of ADHD; (b) EMA or assessment of impulsivity and actigraphy; whereas exclusion criteria are (a) mental retardation and/or (b) co-morbid autism spectrum disorder. Expected results. With this systematic review, we hope 1) to gain knowledge concerning the frequency of use of EMA and actigraphy in the evaluation of impulsivity in children and adolescents with ADHD and 2) to determine the added-value of such approach. As the review is ongoing, at the congress we will present the state of the review at that time.
